Archive Manager is a one of a kind
file archiving solution for files stored in network
shares, there really is nothing else like it. What makes it so different?
File archiving without
a database, anywhere.

Archive Manager is currently in
use with a selection of corporate and educational sector customers. It is the easiest,
most efficient and most cost effective way to get to grips with all those user created
documents on your system that just sit there, filling up your network file shares
for years on end.
Archive Manager gives you the power
to remove all those old and unused files from your network in a safe, secure and
managed way.
Suitable for both small and large
organisations alike, you can get Archive Manager up and running with a minimum of
effort, and normally without purchasing or deploying any extra hardware.
You can set it up and then leave it to enforce
your legal obligations for maximum data retention times, and free up a lot of space
on valuable high performance disk arrays and SAN's.
Features :-
- Flexible archiving options let you get to grips with your files the way that you
want to.
- Capable of handling everything from small branch office file systems, to the Pet Byte
sized storage environments in the largest of data center.
- No database is ever used to store files in. The only database that is used by Archive
Manager is the tiny configuration and job scheduling one which will run happily on any
SQL2000 (or higher) instance, including the completely free SQL Express 2005.
- Archive Manager significantly reduces the amount of data you have to regularly
back up.
- True hard links (Vista/2008 Server only), scripted recall links (shortcut + automated script file to handle file recall) and folder based links (shortcuts that let users browse archived files) are all available to be left behind when files are
archived. This lets users recall/access archived files without having
to ask for assistance from IT help desk personnel.
- Unique 'Graveyard' job to end of life archived files, with the ability to group
graveyarded files into correctly sized chunks ready to be written to removable media.
MRN's (Media Reference Numbers) let end users request the manual recall of a file
that has been written out to removable media and simplifies the job of retrieving
files for IT help desk personnel.
- Extreme reliability achieved by a simple and straight forward architecture.
-
Archive Manager is completely unaffected by other software (e.g. Antivirus or
backup software) changing the last accessed date on files.
